Shojum is a small, independent company. We build software — four products, each solving one problem well.
This is the first note from our workshop. It exists to answer the question we get most often: what is Shojum, and why does it make so many different things?
What we make
Tane is the simplest way for an international founder to start a US company. Formation, registered agent, compliance — handled as a single service, not a pile of upsells. If you are building a company from outside the United States and need a real LLC or Corporation, Tane does the paperwork so you can do the work.
Minori is self-hosted analytics and revenue tracking that deploys into your own Cloudflare account. Your data never leaves infrastructure you control. No usage-based pricing, no third-party scripts, no cookie banners. One licence, your own D1 database, your own Workers.
Kaki is a curated gallery of beautiful interfaces — the kind of design work worth studying. No submissions, no voting. Just a quiet collection of software that looks and feels exceptional.
Mikan is a family of calm apps for everyday use. Small tools that do one thing, stay out of your way, and never ask you to subscribe to a newsletter.
Why four products under one roof
Most companies pick a lane. We picked a principle instead: make useful things, thoughtfully.
That principle connects a compliance service for founders and a self-hosted analytics tool more than it might seem. Both exist because the alternatives are noisy, overpriced, or treat the customer as a metric. Both are built by the same small team that uses them daily.
We are not trying to become a platform. There is no grand unification plan. Each product stands alone, has its own audience, and earns its own keep. What they share is a standard of care — and a single account, Shojum ID, if you happen to use more than one.
How we build
Slowly. We ship when something is ready, not when a roadmap says it should be. Our changelogs are short. Some ideas sit in a notebook for months before we touch them.
This is not a philosophy — it is a constraint. The team is small. The only way to make four products at this size is to be deliberate about what goes into each one.
What this journal is for
These notes are where we share what we are learning: how the products work, what decisions we made and why, and the occasional thing we built that might be useful to someone else.
We write when we have something worth saying. Expect quality over frequency.
