Your license
Kiroku is made by Shojum. When you get Kiroku from the Mac App Store, your use of it is governed by Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the “Standard EULA”). Shojum is the licensor under that agreement. If anything on this page conflicts with the Standard EULA, the Standard EULA wins.
Your recordings
Everything you make with Kiroku belongs to you: recordings, projects, exported videos, thumbnails, and screenshots. Kiroku saves them on your Mac, and we never receive a copy. See the Privacy Policy for what's saved and where.
Because your work lives only on your Mac, keeping it backed up is up to you. Time Machine backs up ~/Movies/Kiroku along with the rest of your files.
Recording responsibly
You're responsible for what you record and share with Kiroku. Before you record, make sure you have the right to capture what's on screen and anyone you can hear or see. In many places, recording a call or meeting requires everyone's consent. Don't use Kiroku to record content you aren't allowed to copy.
Beta versions
Beta versions delivered through TestFlight are for testing. They may have bugs that affect your projects, so keep copies of anything important. Apple's TestFlight terms apply to beta testing.
Trademarks
Kiroku and the Kiroku icon are trademarks of Shojum. Apple, Mac, macOS, and App Store are trademarks of Apple Inc., registered in the U.S. and other countries. YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok are trademarks of their respective owners. Kiroku's export presets are named for these platforms to describe their formats; Kiroku isn't affiliated with or endorsed by them.
Changes and contact
If we change these terms, we'll update this page and its effective date. Questions: support@shojum.com.
