The flip wave runs every five seconds; the card breathes continuously; the line changes tense every few seconds so the shimmer and its resting state can both be seen. All three hold still under reduced motion.

Each card holds two faces and the back already shows what it is about to become. The row flips in a staggered wave; when the last card lands, every slot advances and the flips reset with transitions switched off, so two faces cycle a list of any length without a visible snap back.

The tint is a ring, an inset bloom and two gradients on one overlay, and its opacity is written per frame alongside the icon’s shadow radius — one clock for both, so the card and its mark cannot breathe out of step.

A highlight band travels across a gradient clipped to the glyphs — the same technique as a loading skeleton, used on live text to mean still going. When it finishes, the word changes tense in a stack that reserved the width for both.

The flip is the piece worth taking. A card with two faces can only show two things, and yet this row cycles a list of any length — because at the moment the wave completes, transitions are switched off, every slot advances, and the flip state is cleared before anything can animate. Freeze, mutate, re-enable a painted frame later. This collection has now found that exact move in a chart replay, a globe marker, a menu that declines to animate, and here. That is not a trick; it is a house style.
The flip is the one to take away. Two faces and a list of any length, reconciled by advancing every slot while transitions are switched off — the same freeze-and-reset move this collection has now found in four separate places on the same site, which is what a house style actually looks like.
