Automatic motion whispers.
This is not a row of slides squeezed into one viewport. The next three images remain physically present behind the first, so progression is understandable before a visitor touches anything. The stack communicates quantity with depth instead of dots, arrows, thumbnails, or a counter, leaving the hero image visually dominant.
The source makes a careful distinction between agency and ambient change. A manual release carries the top card 620 pixels toward the hand and rotates it twenty degrees. The 3.2-second automatic turn has no invented hand: the card simply fades and contracts. Beginning a drag suppresses the timer for six seconds, giving control back to the visitor before the ambient rhythm resumes.
The stack turns a passive hero image into a small, legible toy without adding visible carousel furniture. Its best detail is the split between manual and automatic movement: a throw leaves sideways with the hand, while the timer removes the top card with a quieter fade so unsolicited motion does not impersonate a gesture.
